Leaven & Layer is a small cottage bakery making the kind of treats we’d proudly serve to our own family. Specializing in handcrafted cakes, cupcakes, sourdough bread, and sourdough cookies, we believe that real food made with thoughtful ingredients simply tastes better.

Everything is handcrafted in small batches with a lot of care (and a little sourdough love). We don’t mess with food dyes, artificial flavors, added seed oils*, or anything weird. Just high-quality flour, real butter, and fresh milk—because that’s how baked goods should be made.

This is baking at its most genuine—pure, nourishing, and always from the heart.
*Disclaimer: some of the chocolate used in our recipes contains palm kernel oil, however, there are no other seed oils present anywhere else in our recipes. We only use real butter in our cake batters and cookie dough.
