High school is meant to prepare students for the future, but too often it falls short of what today’s world actually demands.

At Plant Street Academy, our homeschool program is designed to bridge that gap with a more intentional, real-world approach to education.

Led by Dorothea Holcomb, a highly respected educator with deep experience in homeschool methodology, this program goes far beyond replicating traditional school at home. It’s a thoughtfully designed environment where middle and high school students learn how to think, communicate, and navigate life with confidence.

Alongside their academic foundation, students develop essential life skills:
• Financial literacy, time management, and personal responsibility
• Communication, leadership, and critical thinking
• Real-world application through projects, collaboration, and problem-solving

We also offer a full spectrum of enrichment programs and electives, giving students the opportunity to explore interests, build new skills, and stay engaged.
