Feature Friday: Polished By Omaris
What’s something customers might not know about your business?

It’s about more than pretty nails for me. I’ve volunteered nail services with Matthew’s Hope for eight years, and caring for elderly clients is a big part of my work. Sometimes a simple manicure means companionship, dignity, and feeling remembered. That’s the heart behind Polished by Omairis and my salon, Polished Artistry Co.
What’s the hardest part of running a business?

Wearing all the hats while still being a wife and mom! Behind every appointment are hours of cleaning, ordering, scheduling, and marketing. The hardest part is balancing caring for everyone else with giving myself that same care. My family, faith, and clients keep me going.
What inspired you to start your business?
A bad salon experience in 2012 inspired me to create the kind of care I wished I had received. I became licensed in 2013 and started building my business in Winter Garden. Through years of sacrifice, my family’s support, and God’s grace, I opened my own salon in Oakland in 2025. I wanted a place where clients feel heard, valued, and at home and that’s what I pour my heart into every day.
